In Bordeaux, the foundation of the city's heritage is trade, in every sense of the word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since time immemorial, the Gironde metropolis has drawn to its port everything that merchants and traders went to carry or fetch from every point of the compass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To understand this, we must go back to what made possible the building of the city we know today, with, at its heart, the 18th century, when Bordeaux, a colonial metropolis, reigned over the Caribbean islands and the African coasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Names remain, some from far away: Balguerie, Cabarrus, Gradis, de Kater, Lain\u00e9, Nairac, Pereire, Saige... streets, boulevards and mansions bearing their names, traditions, and sometimes, skeletons in the cupboard...<\/p>\n\n\n\n
